Seaforth and the surrounding bays of Ball Bay and Halliday Bay are part of the traditional lands of the Yuwibara people.

Growth of Seaforth (originally named Springcliff) as a seaside destination really took off in 1923, when the Pioneer Shire Council proclaimed the area was ‘in a class of it’s own’ with its seclusion, natural scenery and proximity to Mackay; reporting great local tourism potential.

From this, Seaforth and the bays became a popular residential and camping seaside destination.

Outlook

Population projected to increase by 24.3% out to 2036 coupled with a demographic shift underpinned by an ageing population. A continued high concentration of stand-alone houses with growth projected to be driven by coastal retirement and rural residential living.
